Close in the Distance

Advocate.

Accessibility, Solidarity, and Collaboration: the words that best capture the altruistic culture of the original virtual communities and that we now use to promote an inclusive digital culture for all.

Association

Close in the Distance is a non-profit organization that brings together educators, psychologists, tutors, trainers, and social volunteers with the aim of promoting digital education, gender inclusion, and a culture that embraces diversity. Through both physical and digital volunteering, we engage in initiatives ranging from guidance and mentoring for younger people, primarily online, to training and skills enhancement for adults, whether well-integrated or not, with a strong emphasis on intergenerational and intercultural dialogue and exchange. As passionate and dedicated gamers, we actively support LGBTIQA+ culture and perspectives and promote a positive vision of daily digital life and inclusion in virtual spaces, offering activities such as EduGaming workshops and education on the mindful use of social media.

Who are we?

LGBTIQA+ perspectives, SOGIESC topics, gaming, self-care, psychological well-being, parenting, ongoing training and education. Slightly different topics from each other?

Non really ;D!

This is exactly who we are: tutors, psychologists, therapists, trainers, and also parents who dedicate time and energy to digital volunteering and the development of accessible educational activities, creating genuine connections in virtual spaces. We are people committed to ongoing education and training, as well as to parental support, but we are also gamers and activists who have long fought for LGBTIQA+ rights and for the promotion of SOGIESC topics (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics), striving to spread a more inclusive and accessible approach to education, social work, and volunteering.

Close in the Distance was founded in 2022 around these key words, with the intent of giving voice to these diverse sensibilities and perspectives. Our goal? To build a shared space together where individuals can freely express their ideas and, in turn, communicate to others the value of an online community, of web-based relationships, of virtual spaces.
